Grumble, Grumble.
This guy was hauling a rolled up rug as well a crate of some other stuff. He was kind of dressed liek a mover so mayb ehe was starting his own biz but didnt quite have truck money yet.
Dueling headphone wires.
High St.
Whatever she was reading musta been ill to create such a disagreeable expression...
He asked to see drawing as we were getting off the train at GC40deuce, not sure if he was excited about how he was portrayed.
...with bike seat in the foreground.
This kid with an impressive fro got on at Union Sq or BK Bridge and made himself busy entertaining a young lady friend....
..moving down the car and rocking the shades.
Hedging my bets in the tunnel between the Manhattan bound 2/3 and 4 trains...
3 won ny business.
Crosstown on the L to 1st ave...
Quick ride on GC40Deuce - Times Sq. shuttle.
Tourist with strange reverse combover.
Dude with nice suede jacket on the 2 standing in front of...
...a rather Rubenesque blond woman.
Word.
I saw this guy on the street a few minutes after exiting the train. I had an urge to show him the drawing, but he just passed on by.
Baby was by door at first and tehn her dad (on right) found seat and they moved over, she was a cutie who seemed in good spirits after spending the afternoon at work with her pops.
Couldn't see band name as his hair was covering, but I bet it was a bitchin' European tour.
She was glued to that PSP, made my life easier.
No one looked to excited to be going back, although
the misery face is usually what people like to wear on the train, protects against airborne viruses.
Waiting for F at Bergen and riding to 7th Ave.
Elderly gentleman on the way to 7th Ave.
Tourists surround cool lady on 2 back from Eastern Parkway.
Lotsa tired folks taking midday siestas....
My man was col' sprawled out...
There was a dude on my car who I think had Turrets as he was repeating everything that came over the PA. We had to switch trains at BK Bridge and he disappeared on the platform.
Switched to 3 at Nevins, this guy was eyeing the noisy teenagers at other end of car disapprovingly.
2 back from Eastern Parkway.
This guy was still sleeping when I got off at Clark St.
This guy was getting ill with his yellow hilighter on the paper he was holding.
This woman had very distinctive glasses and even though her hair was done much differently, I instantly recognized her and had to catch a quick sketch before jumping off at GC40Deuce. The first drawing of her was from a May 16th entry, the second drawing.
Platform got pretty jammed up by the time the 5 arrived, everyone was keeping there head down as if the weight of the crowd was bearing down on itself.
Someone had the courage to look up, although he just seemed to be staring off into space...
Fun hair but a very severe reading expression.
Another shot of fun-hair-severe-reading expression in the foreground. Woman behind with green coat seemed to offset her tension with a very rounded, relaxed presence.
I couldn't hear this guy through my blasting iPod, but he appeared to have a constant flow of curmudgeony comments about everyone who passed by.
Trying to stay composed and comfortable squashed between the trees.
Few minutes between trains at GC40Deuce so it got a little cozy on the platform.
She had a little fuzzy puppy she was tending too...
Another straphanger with a some sleep standing skills.
I'm pretty sure woman in middle gave me finger at some point.
She was attractive, but looked a bit beaten down by life, at least this morning. Guy in foreground had CRAZY slick hair.
On teh platform at GC40Deuce, catch some faint wiffs of an unpleasant odor, kind of a rotten fish, briney, vomitous industrial canal type deal.
Get on the last car of the 4. The smell has followed me. Could it be me? I smell my sweatshirt, definitely not, I still smell like Tide. I glance around and identify the source. Drunk as a skunk by the door a large mustached man gently harranging other riders who are trying to laugh him off (not him depicted above, by the time I saw him no drawing opportunity was teneable). Man was swaying in a bad way and I feared a disasterous heave was on the way. Luckily he stumbled (almost tragically) off the Train at Fulton before that could happen, likely to become the problem of an unfortunate car on the A train.
As everyone silently silently let out a collective sigh of relief.
Borough Hall, man, pay phone, big coffee.
Tough drawing as I was freestand drawing and she was getting suspicious.
He was a little tough to draw as he was bopping his head all over, must have been late for class at Rock and Roll High School.
The edge of his arm is actually visible as a quick line cutting through the middle of this drawing.
Rocking out with the Green flashing wireless headphone.
This composition ende to quick, so I monstered it up....
Fidgety teenager caught in a contemplative pose.
Big man with a baby face and lots of golden locks.
A very Bumpy ride, was like the A was being chased by Rosco Pico Train...
Started on the Fulton platform, finished on the 4 drawing random folks....
An interesting looking older lady wearing a rich Purple coat which played off her skin which had a coloration similar to that of Emperor Palpattine, but not in a bad way.
The guy on the left was my one constant. The bundle of chairs or art or whatever he was clutching seemed to anchor him.
Japanese tourist hipsters with offsetting button down striped shirts...
Her scarf left an impression as she fled the 6.
Guy on the left was as re faced and white haired as depicted. He stayed with me to Canal st. for my quick trip to Pearl Paint.
4 ladies of different styles on the platform at GC40Deuce.
When I got to Fulton st. there were several heavily armed cops with m16s. Had a few seconds to sketch one as train rolled in. Didn't see Osama though.
Reading paper from BK Bridge to Union SQ.
Started this drawing with guy in left mid ground, as he was a great caricature and spread out. Guy in foreground could used a little neck grooming. Maybe I'll try and sell this as an ad to Schick.
Looking for candy at the Borough Hall newsstand.
I don't know if it was the conversation guy on right was having with out of frame buddy or not, but something was ill affecting this poor woman...
Damn pole.
Stand still girl if you want to look good!
Bushy hair and Beard with vest look, he missed his calling as a Sweathog I think...
This guy's look was out of control, he almost looked like 4 different people sewn together into some weird Frankenstein creation. His eyes were closer together though - that's just the fault of the seem.
Quickie on the BWAY Nassau - High street leg of the journey.
A Train, High ST. to BWAY Nassau
This dude had the most perfectly round head I've ever seen, curse the crease of my book for ruining it!

The guy in the bg was a young version of the Walter character in the Big Lebowski.
Platform at High Street.
A train High to Broadway Nassau (with a touch of soy sauce).
Not chilling on the 4 to GC40Deuce...
Drinking on the train, just like Daddy.....
Off at 72nd, then on to the park. Afterwards back to east side so Jonah can spend some time with his grandparents.
And back to work on 6.
struck some good poses.
He did have a great face to draw, sometimes its too bad I don't live out on New Lots....
Playing around with some color and liquid - coke, coffee, whatever.
She was big on the yellow and brown....
Blue jeans guy with plaid shirt didn't like attention and moved away once he made me...
This woman and her significant other pushed in front of me on the already crwoded platform as they walked up. So my revenge was to draw her. She saw me and took a look. Not sure how flattered she was, but hey, its not my job to flatter.
5 Train mosh.
This guy found that out the hard way on the GC40Deuece platform as the 5 rolled in.
Rocking the BRIGHT yellow jacket, it wasn't even raining today.
Had to get off at...
..Bowling Green and wait for the 4 :(
Dropping in a little color, composite of guy at High St. station and the A between High and Broadway Nassau.
2 seconds on Fulton St. platform.
4 train...
